The review by John Smith claims that HVT is not that near the MRT because the entrance is away from Telok Blangah Rd. That's just the main entrance (for vehicles & pedestrians). There are 2 more entrances (for pedestrians) to Telok Blangah Rd, one of which is 50m from the new escalator to Telok Blangah MRT station.
A major repair & renovation was undertaken in the mid 2000s, following a settlement reached with the developer over complaints of water seepage and other issues. Since then, the condo has been very well maintained.
Great Views - both the two towers have sea & pool views, but other details differ. Tower A has a view of Reflections & Sentosa; however it also faces HDB flats and a Chinese temple (especially the lower floors). Tower B, which faces a different angle, has views of Labrador Park & Keppel golf greens that are unblocked by buildings.
The extra high ceiling (almost 11 ft) also means that it's about 30% higher than other condos with normal ceiling heights. eg. 15th floor is equivalent to 19th floor in other condos.
The unblocked location also means fresh breeze throughout the year.
Spacious grounds and the proximity to MRT give high en bloc potential to this site. I recommend this building for: Outdoors & Activities, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Excellent Location
Posted by Alicia on Apr 13, 2011
Harbour View Towers is extremely near CBD with just mins drive to Tanjong Pagar. It is strategically located near to Resort World Sentosa (RWS) and VivoCity.
Harbour View Towers also has good amenties around i.e. NTUC Fairprice, food market, and Telok Blangah central just a stone throw away.
With the opening of Telok Blangah MRT, it is likely to bring more life and excitement to Telok Blangah area. Harbour View Towers is indeed an excellent location to live in. I recommend this building for: City Living, Luxury & Prestige and Western Expats.

Fantastic Investment
Posted by Expat Investor on Apr 11, 2011
Harbour View Towers has got a great location with just mins drive to Tanjong Pagar. Vivocity and Harbourfront is just 2 bus-stops away. World Resort Sentosa is also very near. Many of the units from #7 onwards are able to have a good view of sentosa / keppel golf course / sea view.
With the upcoming activities i.e. Fairways rumoured to release its showroom, opening of Telok Blangah MRT in 3Q2011, Tanjong Pagar's redevelopment of its railway vicinity (land swap with Malaysia), development of Marina South as commercial / garden city. Bukit Sembawang Developer needs around $1,300psf to breakeven for the enbloc of fairways and may price around $1,700psf. It is not difficult to predict that prices of Harbour View Towers will breach the $1,500psf mark.
Moreover, with projects such as Reflections, Carribean and already highly priced, Harbour View Tower's pricing seemed like a giant waiting to awaken. Rental yield is also great with 2 bedrooms commanding approximately $4k.
Overall, i would recommend this to investors with a keen eye for potential. I recommend this building for: City Living and Western Expats.

Heartlander condo
Posted by john smith on Feb 12, 2011
I was watching this condo, after the enbloc of Fairways. The entrance faces inwards of Telok Blangah Road, so it is not that near to the MRT Station as mentioned. VivoCity is still a distance away. To gauge yourself, visit the condo
Enbloc is a potential for this condo and, if done quickly, may fetch a good price. Fairways was sold to Bukit Sembawang and it makes sense for them to bid a higher price, so that the site can be joined, although Fairways is already a nice size at about 150K sq ft. I, also understand that the owners are also keen on the enbloc.
This condo, has some potential for the time being, as there is not much condo at the moment. Come 2025, when PSA moves to Jurong and the area seaward of Telok Blangah will be developed into seafront housing, then you gauge the impact.
Overall, it is a touch and go, if you buy into this condo. If you know history, in the early 2000s', you will see the cracks along the entire height of the condo with the patching work being done and the gondola moving up and down. It is a sign of water seepage and poor workmanship
One plus point is the support of the Telok Blangah neighbourhood, where the food can be a bit cheaper. That is if you don't mind the heartlanders.
Good luck. I recommend this building for: Families with Children and Peace & Quiet.

Jack

Harbour View Towers is a condo nestled within an HDB area with good proximity to ammenities. Close to Vivocity. Was looking at buying a unit there. Overall feel and surrounding moderately good but my last visit there saw it sporting a new lobby colour which was different from the building's Iconic White colour. Its a shade of beige, pink and light brown. Sadly, this makes the place cheap as its entrance being the first point of entry, looks a bit like an HDB. Otherwise, the carparking is ample and pool area looks and feels comfortable. Good for expats and executives with young families.
I recommend this building for:
City Living,
Families with Children,
Western Expats and
Asian Expats.

Great choice for expats rental
Posted by Tai Tai on Sep 7, 2010
I have just shifted to this 2bed renovated unit, here are my views of this project..
1. Excellent location, Bright rooms, Windy and refreshing sea breeze throughout the day.
2.Near Central Business District, Sentosa and my favourite VivoCity Mega Shopping Mall.
3.Public transport is readily available especially with the Telok Blangah MRT station at stone throw distance ready in few months time. (really looking forward)
4. Nearby HDB housing for groceries (NTUC), hawker food and other amenities which is wonderful. I recommend this building for: City Living, Outdoors & Activities, Families with Children and Asian Expats.
