Multiple construction around Atrium
Posted by Ms. LJ Singapore on Apr 16, 2012
Viewed several units at the Atrium; overall a cosy property with majority expats and few locals. Decent sized swimming pool, modern gym infront of the kids pool; BBQ pit area is a simple setup right next to the pool; underground carpark. No tennis court, no drop-off area. Was initially going to offer for a unit, but realized there are going to be at least 3 new properties directly next to or near Atrium Residences, which means there will be almost surround-sound construction noise and dirt affecting Atrium! Check out listings for Geylang Lorong 28 & 30, and you will know - Guillemard Edge, Idyllic Suites, Melosa, etc. TOP is 2015 at the earliest, that means 3 years of having the 3 construction noise and dirt. Prices should start dropping once the construction work starts for those new properties neared to Atrium. A lot of investor interest in this property, rather than own-stay.
I recommend this building for:
Western Expats and
Asian Expats.

Nice and Convenient Private Apartment
Posted by Lucas on Oct 28, 2011
Have been stayed here for one year, can be considered as a satisfying experience.
Love the convenient of the transportation, also choices of restaurants in the Area, regardless along Geylang Road or the Old Airport area.
For those who working at downtown, at least 2 MRT stations can be reached both within 0.5 km. (Dakota and Aljunied)
Just one suggestion, why turn off the light of the swimming pool so early? I can understand for the fountain since it created noises for those living at 3rd and 4th floor facing the swimming pool. But for those who want to swim after working hour, to swim in the dark pool is not an enjoyable experience, and really not convenient.
By average, this is a satisfied choice. I recommend this building for: City Living, Outdoors & Activities, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Great choice for Expart living without car
Posted by Windy on Oct 15, 2011
8 minutes walk from Aljunied MRT through Lor 27b. 10 minutes walk to Dakota MRT through Cassa Link, and 13 minutes walk to Payalebar Circle link MRT.
NTUC available at lor 35 in 3 minutes walk. So many convenience stores and 24hr restaurant around.
When I finally rent a unit there, the last reason that make me decide is after observed the residences there for several days in different timeslots. I saw so many "AngMo" staying there :), of course also Asians with family and do not seem to me like those singles doing "funny funny activities" for living, like any other might be concerning about.
Well, I have been staying here for 3 months now, so far is one of my best experience in Condo Hunting life after 10 years being Expart in this island.
Just sharing my personal experience.
Thanks... I recommend this building for: City Living, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Value for money
Posted by Mr Chan on May 31, 2011
This place is value for money. Pls suggest a project that is less than 3 yes old freehold project at below $1000 psf.
There are many new development coming up in this area. The red lantern near lorong 28 will soon be gone.
Project is decent and rental yield is good. Ideal for own stay and investment.
A good size swimming pool and gym.
MRT station are not too far away, about 8 to 10 mins walk. Lots of eating place to choose from.
Location wise, it's just 10 to 15 mins drive to Suntec city, Raffles place and Orchard Road. I recommend this building for: City Living, Peace & Quiet, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

Chaotic Condo
Posted by jlim on Dec 6, 2010
Not really ideal place for family, as you can't really walk out for dinner peacefully. There is a pub nearby and a late night coffee shop where these two attract many "uncles" and young punks seeking night fun, parking illegally along lor 28, obstructing traffic, people walk haphazardly, and making noise late night. And internally, it becomes like "condotel" where it rents to all kind of foreigners (angmo, china, vietnam, etc). the swimming pool is occupied by these foreigners and locals seldom use...

Quiet & Peaceful Environment
Posted by Yoke Piew on Oct 23, 2010
I don't know what is the motives of some reviewers who condemned this development so badly and yet never stay here. I personally think that if they are not staying here, pls do not judge recklessly just because of their ill intention.
Personally I have been staying here for more than one year with my family and kids. Therefore, i think i should stand out to raise my objection for the poorest rating given by some outsiders.
About 60-70%% of the residents here are foreigners who are either students or professionals. The rental here is not cheap, you can check out the asking price in propertyguru if you intent to rent a unit here. A reviewer accused that Atrium Residences is "Factory or Hostel ??" , please use some intelligence, can a factory worker affords the rental here?? Do you think Foreign Expats or Students will rent the premises here if this is a "factory or hostel??"
In reality, the living environment inside Atrium Residences is "Quiet & Peaceful". In day time, both foreign university students, professional expats and locals professionals are busy with their daily routines. Hence, it's very quiet. At night, you may see some people swimming at the pool. This is what actually is happening here. At anytime, there are 2 to 3 security officers protecting us. We are blessed and comfortably staying here for more than one year.
The walking distance is not 800 meters away from the MRT station (as mentioned by one of the reviewers.) The distance is about 500 to 600 for both Aljunied and Dakota stations. Walking distance to Aljunied is about 12 minutes whereas Dakota would be around 15 minutes.
The fallback would be it is not luxury and prestige but rather this is a moderately beautiful private apartment with some condo facilities. A simple apartment that suits family with children as well. My kids are studying at nearly Kong Hwa School, a prestigious primary school in Singapore. I recommend this building for: City Living, Outdoors & Activities, Families with Children, Peace & Quiet, Students, Western Expats and Asian Expats.

so-so only
Posted by don t on Oct 16, 2010
Saw one of the units. 'ok' only. the one way traffic in front and back is a bit problematic and inconvenient. Condo interior is not bad looking, but cannot be considered high class.
Highly recommended for rental to foreign people working a few streets down, not looking to stay here for too long. I recommend this building for:

Beautiful Home

May I ask you one simple question? Do you live in Atrium Residences? It beats me how you can pass such derogatory remarks about this wonderful development. Link up with a property agent and come see this development for yourself. You will be impressed by the value you will get with the bargain basement price you are paying for, be it rental or purchase, I think I shouldn't say more - see and feel it for yourself.. By the way, there are many foreign expats and professionals who are living here.

Luxury & Prestige,
Students,
