Hi all, We have rented private apt for 2 years lease. My job had been terminated in October 2008 and my wife's (banker) was also terminated in December 2008. We exercised the clause as follows: DIPLOMATIC CLAUSE If the Tenant, XYZ & John Ng has cease to be employed in Singapore, owner grants the right of early termination of the Tenancy which may be terminated provided 2 month’s notice only after the Tenant has completed a minimum of 12 month’s Tenancy Agreement. We handed over the keys to the owner and his agent after staying for 14 months. They said its BREACH OF CONTRACT and that too when we are leaving the place. They said at least one of the person is working. But I already emailed to the owner (January 2009) that my salary is lesser than monthly rent and also acknowledged the email.Although we never ever mentioned about breach of contract. We are really APPALLED and going to settle the case in the court. Can some please advice on this? Cheers, John Ng

I am looking for a resale flat/apartment due to ineligibilty to purchase a new HDB flat. Based on current mkt prices, condos & HDBs are pretty competitive so I am in 2 minds about it. For a condo, I would prefer freehold or 999yrs leasehold and budget around 600K in the East area (loyang or Pasir Ris). 3 bed rooms preferred. For HDB, what are the current mkt price in Tampines/Pasir Ris 5-room flats? Preferably near Downtown east. Finally, what are the payment modes for both types of flats? Thanks
