My wife has been badgering me to buy a condo as she feels she needs to own property. I have never considered buying private property and so am at a lost as to what I can expect in terms of financial burden if I want to get a condo. How much upfront money do I need to have to buy a new condo, how much loan can I get (I'm a teacher), how long is that loan, and what other financial options do I have?
