Dear Margaret,
The decision of either selling the property to cash in or leasing it for investment return will solely depend on your portfolio.
Below listed are some facts which I believe will be able to help you.
For sale,
The floor rate of latest transacted unit of size 926psf in the project are $625 and $652 , Westbay condo Top in 02/1995 so it is a 13 year old project.
Based on the current property market mood in Singapore due to the US Sub Prime. Local buyers will adopt a wait and see mindset while oversea buyer who are looking to purchase a property for investment will perfer Freehold.
For Rent
NUS is about 550m
NUH is about 2Km
AH is about 4Km
Japanese Secondary School is about 1.7Km
United world College of South East Asia is about 1.7km
All seem to suggest that renting maybe a better choice,
However the final decision Is still up to you.
