Hi..I have rented a property just 1 months and 2 weeks ago. My company pays the rental and the security deposit was paid to the landlord when he handed over the property. The TA was signed for 2 years. I started working on tight projects as soon as I landed in Singapore and I had to do a rush selection. Now the family is here we are not really happy with the apartment. <y budget is about S$ 7000 per month and I know I can go for a good place. I do not want to stuck with this place for 2 years and feel bad. Is there a way that I can get out of the current TA and go for a new property What would it cost me ( so that I can negotiate with my company) - please let me know - I am not really happy where I am and want to change - thanks so much | PropertyGuru

Hi, PE,

I believe you and your family is staying in apartment selected by you under your company's account. Now that you want to change the apartment as you are not happy; your company will suffer a loss in the loss of security deposit and one month advance rental (already paid).

If this is the case, have to discuss with your company for a solution. You maybe required to pay for the said loss. You are lucky it is only three months rental amount loss.
