My kid wiil be going to P1 next year, need a house near a gd Pri School. We are prepare to sell current hse in Admiralty Drive, HDB, 5 room. High floor. Need advise and recommendation. Thank you.

I understand your predicament as I did that before for my girl in 2008. But being near a school does not guarantee a place! There are many other factors to consider.

I am an ex-teacher myself and I would like to know the possible schools you are thinking of enrolling your kids into. I am an avid supporter of education and your kids deserve the best. Selling your house is one option but selling means you need to actively search for your new home fast too.

Hi Loke,
We have some fairly good schools in the north if you are happy and familiar with the north. Is your child a girl/boy? Are most closer relative of yours also staying in the north?
The average recent transacted 5rm HDB flats in Admiralty Dr were approximately $400K to $420K. This information could be a good gauge for selling your existing flat and to decide on your next property.

Hi,
First you must find a place before selling, either staying someone place before you could move in to the new house. If you didn't find a house or a place to stay then after selling you have no place to stay.

If your kid is going Primary school next year, I assumed you have already enrolled him to your choice of Primary School. Normally Parents will sell their house to move to somewhere near the school so as to convenient their children. This is common for Singaporean.
Let me know which Primary school your children is in next year & I will source for flats near to the school.

A good school is impt but staying at an area where it is easily accessible is vital too.
North and north east area will be quite accessible. e.g. hougang where there is north east MRT to city area within 15mins. There's a few famous school in that area too. AMK & bishan are accessible & few well known school are nearby too, but the price in these places wil be more expensive.
You have to consider ur budget of ur new house then select the area where u think is affordable, easily accessible, amenitites & well-known nearby.

There are many good primary schools in singapore. It really depends which part you want to stay. In the west there are rulang and nanhua. In the east, there is taonan. There are numerous others.
