Hi Michelle,
That is probably the golden question that every client would ask. Haha. Well the market rate for selling is 2% and buying for HDB is 1%. For buying of private property, we do not charge as we will be collecting commission from our cobroke agents.
This is really a very sensitive topic and there are indeed a lot to be discussed. Trust me, your choice of agent should not be strrictly based on commission payable. There are reasons why some agents strictly charge 2% and why some don't. This place may not be the best place to talk about it.
My partner, Elaine and I have served many sellers and buyers and we have made them happy clients and now friends. It is a relationship that has progressed from acquaintance to client to friends. We have been given the honour to attend many house warmings, weddings and even baby 1st year birthdays of our clients. You may read some of our testimonials at my website.
I look forward to hear from you soon and maybe we can meet up for a non obligatory discussion. You also need to see the agent who might be serving you right? :)
Thanks for your time and attention. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Afternoon Michelle,
The standard market rate for selling is 2% and buying at 1%. However, with Fair Trade Act, you can discuss the commission rate with your salesperson.
Do feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.

Hi Michelle,
There is no prevailing rates for commission payable to salesperson for selling and buying, however, I believe most full time salesperson who are in this profession as their livelihood will hope to receive 2% commission for selling and 1% for buying, with their focus in delivering their best services and meeting their clients' expectations.
I do understand that there are some salesperson who charges less than the mentioned rates, which are pretty attractive to bargain hunters but what are the chances that good thigs are cheap and cheap things are good?
I am just a phonecall/SMS/email away should you require further assistance.

Hi Michelle,
Commission for both are totally different. Industry practice is selling 2% commission of the sale price while buying is 1% commission of the purchase price, these are excluding GST.
I do understand that some agents in the market are charging a lower rate of commission sometimes but it does not guarantee they will provide the full service for you.
For instance, if you find an agent who is willing to accept 1% for selling your unit but are you sure your unit is open up for cobroke or even exposure to the whole market. I certainly doubt so.
Nevertheless, if you are keen in engaging my services in the future in selling and buying, feel free to contact me.
Hope to hear from you soon.
