The HDB has identified 21 blocks in Redhill Close — Blocks 1 to 3 and 5 to 22 — for the Selective En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS).
Comprising 878 flats, these blocks were developed in 1955 and will be over 60 years old by the time residents move out.
The HDB will develop some 1,200 new two-, three-, four- and five-room flats in Henderson Road to re-house the flat owners.
Located within walking distance to Redhill and Tiong Bahru MRT stations, the new blocks will be 48 storeys high, providing panoramic views of the city skyline.
Amenities nearby include markets, shops and food centres.
This will be the 76th site to benefit from SERS, an urban redevelopment initiative to upgrade and maintain public housing flats in older estates.
Launched in 1995, the programme has helped around 34,000 households across 75 sites.
