Located near Punggol jetty, Punggol Point Park comprises a children’s playground, events plaza, viewing deck and lily ponds.
The recreational project is one of three thematic zones along the 4.9 km-long Punggol Promenade, which will anchor the proposed recreational cluster at Punggol Point.
Set for completion next year, the S$16.7 million Punggol Promenade will link the two recreational clusters at Punggol Point and Punggol East.
“We hope that Punggol Point Park will offer respite from the hustle and bustle of city life to the residents in Punggol and allow visitors of all ages to relax and soak in the idyllic atmosphere,” said Mr Ng Lang, Chief Executive Officer of the URA.
“This latest recreational destination is a collective effort from the project team, leaders and residents from the grassroots and Constituency, the agencies from the public sector and supporters from the private sector.”
Punggol Promenade is the latest in a series of improvement projects that the URA has undertaken to enhance Singapore’s residential living environments.
Other enhancement projects include the Southern Ridges, Woodlands Waterfront and the soon-to-be completed Labrador Nature and Coastal Walk.
