HDB’s latest Build-To-Order (BTO) project – Waterway Terraces in Punggol – is six times oversubscribed a day after it was launched.

The five-bedroom flats are the most popular, receiving nearly 1,800 applications for the 306 available flats.

The three- and four-room flats were also oversubscribed, receiving 268 applications for the 178 three-room flats available and 2,461 applications for the 306 four-room units.

Waterway Terraces is the first waterfront public housing project in Singapore. Many industry watchers expect the project to be ten times oversubscribed.

Other new BTO projects by HDB – Fernvale Foilage and Rivervale Arc – which are both located in Sengkang received less demand, with only 50 percent of the total units receiving applications.
