A new guide on best green practises intended for the construction sector has been launched in Singapore.

The guide, called “Green and Gracious Builder Guide”, provides valuable information on cutting-edge green solutions.

Such technologies and solutions help support the construction industry in adopting sustainable green practises.

The best green practises were collected from measures adopted by builders, who have been acknowledged under the “Green and Gracious Builders” scheme, said Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State for National Development.

Aside from pushing for sustainable buildings and construction, Ms. Fu said the government has urged green practises in the construction industry in two ways.

First, to implement practise codes and design standards to facilitate and allow the recycling of construction materials; and second, to support capability building at the company and worker level for the advancement of the use of sustainable construction techniques.

For instance, companies can tap on the $15 million-Sustainable Construction Capability Development Fund to ramp up their capability.
