HDB’s latest Build-To-Order (BTO) project -- Boon Lay Grove in Jurong West -- has been receiving overwhelming demand from homebuyers.

Many property observers said the upcoming Jurong Lake District makes the location for the project more attractive.

The latest figures from HDB website showed more than 3,800 homebuyers have applied for the 450 units, making it nine times more than the number of units being offered.

The 300 four-room units for the project received some 2,500 applications, while the 150 five-room units received nearly 1,400 applications.

The other BTO project – Floral Spring@Yishun – has not seen strong demand compared with the Boon Lay project, but the number of applicants surpassed the number of units being offered, which has a mix of studio apartments and four- to five-rooms units.

Overall, the Floral Spring project offers about 600 units.
