The sky garden on top of the Pinnacle@Duxton is drawing a huge crowd, with nearly 900 people noted as of Thursday to have visited the 50th-storey garden since its New Year's Day opening. The great turnout was despite the $5 entrance fee that HDB charges. Earlier, HDB explained that the $5 fee will be used to pay the cost of managing access to the six skybridges. It also helps to prevent overcrowding of the skybridges and regulates demand.
Glenn Lim, a 30-year-old interior designer who visited the sky garden, felt the sight was worth the price. “But if the garden was built higher, the view would be even better,” Mr. Lim said.
At a height of 156 metres, the Pinnacle's sky garden is currently one of the tallest observatory decks in the country that the public can access.
The Singapore Flyer, which stands 165 metres, offers a 360-degree view of Singapore. Each ride costs $29.50.
