KEPPEL Corp chief executive Choo Chiau Beng will take over as chairman and director of Keppel Land from May 1.
Announcing this yesterday, Keppel Land said Mr Choo will take over from Lim Chee Onn, who will be stepping down as chairman and director of the company with effect from April 30. Mr Choo has been a director of Keppel Land since 1985.
Mr Choo had also earlier taken over from Mr Lim as CEO of Keppel Corp.
Acknowledging Mr Lim's contributions, Mr Choo said: 'Under Mr Lim's leadership, Keppel Land grew from a local property player to one of Asia's premier property developers with a sterling portfolio of residential and commercial developments stamped with a distinctive quality hallmark.'
Mr Lim was a director of Keppel Land (then Straits Steamship Co Ltd) since 1983 and was appointed the managing director in 1986. He became deputy chairman in January 1994 and chairman in 1997.
