Jeffrey Chng, regional trainer informs Debbie Yong about Tiong Bahru flat and tells her the reason why he considers it as the finest place to refresh and recharge.Mr. Chng, a 35-year-old bank trainer has a home in a 131 square meters HDB flat with five rooms located in Tiong Bahru. He lives with his semi-retired parents, his younger brother and cousin.
He said that he loves his flat because of its unusually large balcony, which is unusual for newly made HDB flats. His unit is situated on a high level of the structure and he really loves the scene from it. The HDB flat is conveniently positioned and is just minutes away from his office.
As Mr. Chng frequently travels out of the country for work, he always long for his home and looks forward to return to his sanctuary where he can relax and recharge.
The flat décor adopts a modern contemporary theme with a black and white contrast. His most favoured corner is his living room where he usually laze on the large sofa and catch up with several recorded entertainment shows and watches his favourite movies.
Mr. Chng decides to change one wall from the kitchen into a short full-length glass intended for the kitchen's passage way. This will make the place to look brighter, clean, and spacious.
If he will be asked if he wants to sell the place, his answer will be yes, only if there will be an extremely good payment proposal for it. When he purchased the flat, it cost him $650,000 to acquire it. He spent $10,000 for the furnishing and $40,000 for the renovations. Currently, the approximate cost of his flat is worth $710,000.
