Under the build-to-order (BTO) system, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) in Singapore has launched its two latest projects, where one is in Choa Chu Kand and the other is in Punggol, on 30 December 2008. These projects offer a total of 1,181 studio, and apartments with three, four and five rooms.
Sunshine Court, one of the two new projects from HDB, is sited along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3. This project is consisted of 164 studio apartments, 171 flats with four rooms, and 117 flats with three rooms. This is the first time that studio apartments, with elderly-friendly equipments such as grab bars and non-slip flooring, are offered for sale in the Choa Chu Kang.
Price for Sunshine Court studios range between $58,000 and $80,000. Its three-room flats are priced at $121,000-$148,000, and its flats with four rooms will sell for $202,000 to $236,000.
The other new HDB project called Punggol Regalia has 546 four-room and 183 five-room apartments. The price range of its four-room units is from $252,000 to $316,000, while its five-room flats cost $342,000 to 428,000.
Analysts claim that they are expecting more demand for the Choa Chu Kang property, while the good location of Punggol Regalia should encourage buyers.
These two projects added to about 7,793 units that HDB launched in 2008 under the BTO systems. Other towns with HDB projects under this system are Sengkang, Yishun, Woodlands and Bukit Panjang.
