As part of a better-quality makeover for the Jurong area, residents and homeowners can expect greater and a lot more options of homes to select from in the coming years. Meticulous plans to renew manors like the Faber Terrace and Faber Hills, and Teban and Pandan Gardens . This was stated yesterday by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).While the infrastructure improvement works will be completed at the nearby housing areas by the Housing Board and the national water agency PUB, the prevailing International Business Park develops. Scour activities will be deepening Jurong Lake by the PUB. This project will create more recreational water ventures. While PUB intents to construct a new waterfront esplanade with boardwalks, bridges and wetlands, the Active, Beautiful, Clean (or ABC) Waters Programme intends to renovate reservoirs and canals into a picturesque set of connections of waterways.
Through various improvement programmes, the HDB has been restoring Teban and Pandan Gardens estates, and its Selective En-bloc Redevelopment Scheme (Sers). Sers is responsible for displacement of homeowners in public housing that is around 30 years old and turns their homes into recently urbanised high-density projects situated in close proximity.
URA stated that Faber Terrace and Faber Hills’ road development works will allocate more superior low- and medium- density homes fronting Sungsei Ulu Pandan to be constructed to support the escalation of the Jurong Lake District.
These plans may not have an instant considerable effect on the market, according to Nicholas Mak, the director of research and consultancy Knight Frank. However, this may contribute to an array of housing options, and may later on attract home buyers.
