If you haven’t noticed, Christmas is looming. In fact, it’s less than a month away today! Eeeekk!

A couple of weeks to plan, shop and wrap gifts for special loved ones …although those of you with family/friends OS; have only two weeks to post your items to ensure they arrive before Christmas.

If that wasn’t enough, have you decided upon a theme for the day, what to eat and where (and with whom!)? Aaarrrgghhhh!

How’s your abode looking? Is it as festive as Ebenezer Scrooge’s place? (Read: anti-Christmas?) Or is your place as brilliantly lit as the Griswald’s from the iconic American film, ‘National Lampoons Vacation’? Perhaps your home is the envy of all and is as stylish as any event planner/designer could possibly imagine?

Hmmm…all this planning, shopping and decorating could result in one gargantuan headache. Below is a go-to list for all that glitters.

• If time is limited, you could visit IKEA at either Alexandra Road or Tampines for pretty much one-stop and inexpensive festive shopping.

• For stylish and refined (but certainly not cheap) inspiration, check out Vanilla Home at Palais Renaissance or Inside Living by Ziegler located at Cluny Court.

• If bright, shiny things distract you from logical thought, head to Chinatown, Arab Street or Little India for baubles and paraphernalia. Allocate enough time to visit Mustafa Centre’s jewellery ‘department’ for a glitterati sensory overload for either yourself or someone special.

• If your decorations are looking a little lacklustre and past their 1982 use by date or, perhaps you’re new to Singapore and the Christmas decorations are ‘back home’, you can purchase unique and ornate trinkets from Lim’s Arts and Crafts either at Holland Village or VivoCity.
