PropertyGuru Launches Most Comprehensive iPhone app for Property Hunters
80,000 property listings available on leading property portal’s mobile application.
PropertyGuru, Singapore’s leading property
site has launched its first iPhone application targeted at property
hunters who want information on the go. The free app was available on
Apple’s app store on 25 May 2010, and has already seen more than 3000
downloads from Singaporeans. The app is currently the second most
popular iPhone app in the Lifestyle category.

Utilising the same database of over 80,000 listings as PropertyGuru’s
award-winning internet portal (www.propertyguru.com.sg), the app allows
for property hunters to search and view properties for rent and sale.
A “nearby-here” search function, where the user is able to search for
properties near their physical location utilising the iPhone’s location
functions, will allow property hunters easy access to information when
they are out for viewings.
A recent survey of property hunters by PropertyGuru showed that more
Singaporeans are utilising the internet to search for information on
available properties in the market. This iPhone app plans to tap on the
increasing use of internet technology among property hunters in
Singapore.

Mr Steve Melhuish, CEO and Co-Founder of PropertyGuru, said, “Property
hunters are relying more on the internet to give them up-to-date
information when making their decisions. Our latest iPhone app shows
PropertyGuru’s commitment to provide the best tools to property seekers
in Singapore.
“Almost 10% of PropertyGuru’s 1.5million monthly users are already
using their mobile phones to search for property. With the iPhone’s
dominance in Singapore and our new iPhone app, we expect to increase
that number further.”
PropertyGuru’s new iPhone app allows for property seekers to access one
of Singapore’s largest property databases on the go. The user-friendly
interface of the app also makes it very convenient for the user to read
the latest property news, find a housing agent, and even contact the
agent directly via the phone or email.
Other useful functions in the app include a mortgage calculator,
listings of the latest property launches, contact a property agent
specialising in different housing categories, and the ability to
shortlist searches.
